Although the Oldsmobile Cutlass has been around since 1961, the Cutlass Supreme first appeared in 1966, featuring a plusher interior with a notch-back bench seat, full wheel covers and deluxe door panels. The first generation Supreme was only built for two model years.
In 1968, Oldsmobile introduced the second generation Cutlass that would be built until 1972. Pictured here is an example of the last of the second generation Cutlass. This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible belongs to a Clavey Auto Service customer. It was built at the Lansing, Michigan assembly plant and is equipped with a 350 cid, 160 bhp V-8 engine, a 2bbl. Rochester carburetor, an automatic transmission and Ralley wheels.

Supreme interiors were more luxurious than those of the other Cutlass models, with a choice of a Custom Sport notch-back bench seat with an armrest in Osborne cloth or Moroccan vinyl, or at no extra cost (on coupe and convertibles only), Strato bucket seats in Moroccan vinyl. Available at extra cost with the bucket seats was a center console with a floor mounted shifter. This car has the benchseat and a column shifter.

There were 11,571 of these cars manufactured for the 1972 model year. Weighing in at 3,510 lbs. and with a 116.0 inch wheel base, this was a smaller car than the first generation Cutlass. The original base price was $3,433.00. This car is in great condition and turns heads wherever it goes.
